Ways To Tone Your Body Without Losing Weight

Most of us focus on weight loss to stay fit. While it isn’t wrong to do so, some do not want to lose their pounds in order to appear lean. We have good news for such people, as it’s possible to tone your body without making any other changes to your weight. Here are a couple of mantras to get in shape and maintain your weight.

 

What Does It Mean to Tone Your Body?

By toning your body, you essentially replace fat by building muscles that will make you look leaner instead of bulkier. Toning increases your body strength and decreases the chances of falling ill, which in today’s time equals survival.

A perfect combination of nutrition and exercise is what your body needs to tighten up while maintaining your current weight.

 

Mantra 1 – Eating Right

Eating from the right food groups is essential to achieve a toned body. Remember, you are trying to build muscles while not losing any weight. So, your diet should primarily be high-protein foods that are low in saturated fat and calories.

Almost every meal should have protein, vegetables, and fruits on the menu. Also, consider adding a protein shake to have post-workout! Ensure that you eat every few hours so your metabolism remains high and your muscles are properly fed.

 

Mantra 2 – Working Out Regularly

Along with the change in your diet, working out at least three days a week will take you closer to your body toning goal. Weight training that focuses on working your entire body is the right way to exercise. Work your core with an exercise ball and use dumbbells and bench presses to tighten your muscles.

The trick is to start with lighter weights and slowly build them up to heavier ones. Make sure to take a break in between your workout days. The muscles that are broken down during resistance training need to heal adequately.

 

How Long Will It Take to Tone Your Body?

Following a good diet plan and a disciplined workout regimen for at least four to six weeks will get you a noticeable result. Enough to motivate you to keep at it. Want proof? Measure yourself before you begin and periodically every month to quantify your progress. You will see that your muscles have tightened without losing weight.

Toning your body boosts your confidence, and it’s achievable with a consistent effort in terms of eating right and regular exercise.
