It is always nice to see a milestone or an incredibly special event that the British Royal Family shares to the world. Recently there are two people who have officially joined the family.
One of them is American actress Meghan Markle, who now has the title of the Duchess of Sussex, after marrying Prince Harry last May. However, even before she has officially joined the royal family, there was another addition that was considered to be more way important than the new Duchess, and that is the birth of another future King.
Prince William and Kate announced that they were indeed expecting another bulge of joy around September last year. After the announcement, the world, especially the entire Great Britain couldn’t wait to see the new royal baby, and also couldn’t wait for the cutest photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte with the third child.
It was last April when the new heir to the throne, with an official name of Prince Louis Arthur Charles was born. The new prince will now be the fifth in line to the throne. On the 9th of July, he was officially christened and here are some of the royal family’s greatest moments and official photographs.
Baptism of Prince Louis
It was another remarkable day for the royal family for its newest member’s christening. The young prince actually wore the same baptism gown as his elder brother and sister when they were christened. It was actually part of the royal tradition, but what they wore was actually a replica of the original one since was way too old to be adjusted. The original baptismal gown was actually from the year 1841 and it had been worn by 62 members of the royal family on their baptism, that includes the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William.
Then again, that is not the only tradition that was followed on Prince Louis’ christening, another tradition was seen to have happened and that is to serve the parents’ wedding cake. The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot in April 2011, so technically, Prince Louis’ parents would be eating the same cake for the fourth time. At their wedding, Prince George’s baptism, Princess Charlotte’s baptism, and now on Prince Louis’ special day.
It may have been a family event but the Queen, as well as Prince Philip, were nowhere to be seen. Prince Philip has officially retired from public events but the Queen hasn’t, however, it turns out that the 92-year-old monarch had an official talk with her grandson Prince William, regarding their absence. The Queen was too busy and in need of a much-needed rest before hosting US President Donald Trump’s arrival, just a couple of days after the christening.
Official Christening Snaps
The people of the United Kingdom and the world always wait for the official photographs that are usually released on the official Twitter and Instagram page of the royal family, when events like these take place. Which is why it immediately went viral when the photos from the royal christening were posted on their official social media pages. Like the previous photographs for a royal christening.
A photo consists of the official family of the baptized namely, The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and of course the newly christened Prince Louis who must be carried by his mother.
In this photo, the other immediate members of the royal family are present as well. Technically, the Queen, as well as her husband, are usually present in the family picture, but since they weren’t able to make it, only her son Prince Charles with his wife Camilla, as well as Prince William’s younger brother, Prince Harry with his wife Meghan, were the only ones included in the photograph.
Another photograph is taken, but this time around, the Middletons are included since they are the Duchess of Cambridge’s family. It includes her father Michael Middleton, her mother, Carole Middleton, her brother James Middleton, and her sister Pippa Matthews together with her husband.
Aside from those two photographs, there is also a special family photo of the Cambridges as they embark the new journey of being a family of five. Another photo was released wherein the Duchess is seen smiling down to her baby boy, Prince Louis. The first two family photographs were actually taken at the Clarence House’s Morning Room, and they sat at a couch that was actually all the way from 1773 owned by the Duke of Gloucester.
