When it comes to fashion, there is just no limit. Everyone can literally put anything together and call it their own. Then again, not every fashion style becomes a trend, some just goes out there and get ignored since it doesn’t really make an impact even if it is by a known luxury brand.

It is somewhat similar to films that usually flop in the box office despite having such a huge budget. Not every fashion trend are good though, some styles are so bad that they actually trend. Usually they don’t last long, or they make a comeback, but there are times they are better left forgotten. Just like this particular shoes that came out in 2002, who went up to the trends list in such a negative way.

Crocs, Inc. launched their first shoes in 2002, these unusual shoes that are made of plastic, are actually meant was designed as shows for boating. During their official launch in Florida, they actually managed to sell 200 pairs and so far, they have managed to sell 300 million pairs.

It is the first of its kind which is why it went up to the trend, even if it faced numerous criticisms. Their brand faced controversy when there were events wherein wearing Crocs became dangerous to wear when riding an escalator.

It was in 2008 when a child who wore these Crocs sandals suffered from injuries because the escalator caught the plastic rubber. This is said to be because the said shoes are made of really soft plastic material, this then led to the Japanese trade and industry to file a request for Crocs to change their design and aim for safety.

Some hospitals in the United States, Canada, Austria, and Sweden, have actually banned their employees to wear Crocs for their antistatic requirements. However, despite the huge sales of Crocs all over the world, it is still known to be such a fashion failure, especially by fashion experts. They consider this a trend that must not come back. It did slow down and was no longer in trends the past few years, but it has managed to make a major comeback in the most unexpected way.

Crocs have definitely gone all out and about when it comes to their plastic shoes, which is why it has actually become one of the top trends these past few years. Most people wonder why since usually a stylish item of clothing becomes a trend if celebrities actually wear it all the time, but then Crocs seem to have an unusual effect. Every Croc basically comes in almost every color, since pastel shades are in, they had to adapt and release pastel colored ones as well.

However, they were stepping everything up, and that means literally. Simply because they just released newly styled Crocs that have heels on it. That is not the most shocking news of all, that is because a designer brand was actually behind all this.

Crocs Heels Surprisingly Sold Out

It turns out that Balenciaga may seem to have gotten some inspiration on Crocs when they released the plastic shoes with high heels on it. Some people on the internet actually referred to this as Barbie stilettos since technically, all Barbie’s heels are out of plastic and it can now be worn by humans.

This wasn’t apparently the very first time that the luxury fashion brand has taken inspiration towards a rubber footwear, but taking on Crocs was a total shock for everyone. Some fashion critics from various magazines even said that it would seem as if Balenciaga is running out of ideas that they had to go this far.

According to sources, the original Crocs brand has been making shoes with heels on it for years now, Balenciaga just transformed it. The ones that Crocs has been selling is actually less than $50, and it is currently sold out based on their websites. What shocked people more is that it has actually been resold in Amazon for more than $200. The new Balenciaga Crocs-inspired shoes don’t really have a price yet, but despite that fact that its plastic, it is still a designer item so expect it to be around a couple of hundred, or even a thousand.
