The Kardashian-Jenner clan may be criticized for having no artistic talents but their business savvy is something worthy of admiration.
They have managed to create an all-encompassing empire that has successfully monetized their star power and social influence. One of the family’s best business minds is Kylie Jenner.
Not content with her current success, the 21-year-old billionaire is looking to expand her beauty empire with the launch of her very own skincare line.
Kylie Skin
First teasing her fans about the launch of a new set of products on her Twitter last month, the social media influencer and reality star finally confirmed that she is putting out Kylie Skin on May 22.
Rumors about a possible skincare line have been around since October of last year when fans noticed that Jenner applied for the Kylie Skin trademark.
The announcement came as a surprise to some but the young mogul believes that this is the logical next step when it comes to her beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics.
What more, she says that she’s been dreaming of having a skincare line for years now. Birthing an entirely new set of products was difficult but Jenner is happy with the results of her hard work.
Jenner became a pioneer in her family when she launched her own makeup line back in 2015. Since then, the company has sold over $600 million worth of products. The brand was initially known for its fast-selling lip kits and made the then-teen $900 million richer.
What to Expect
Here’s some good news to money savvy young people. It seems like Jenner had you in mind while conceptualizing her skincare products.
Judging from the latest promo materials released on Kylie Skin’s official Instagram account, it looks like there are six products to be launched next week. The ‘skin set’ is made up of every essential product for each step of a normal skincare routine.
All products come in a very minimalist, millennial pink-colored packaging, and are set to retail for relatively affordable prices. So far, there’s the $24-dollar Foaming Face Wash, the Walnut Facial Scrub worth $22, and the Vanilla Milk Toner which costs $22.
The $125-set is completed by three other moisturizer-like products including an eye cream, a face moisturizer, and a vitamin C serum set to retail for $20, $24, and $28 respectively.
Positive Reception
It comes as no surprise that Jenner’s recent announcement was met positively by her fans. In fact, Kylie Skin’s newly launched Instagram account has already amassed one million followers. Each post from the account has also garnered thousands of excited comments from the 21-year-old star’s fans.
Many comments expressed curiosity about each product’s ‘story’ and ingredient list. Some also commended the mogul for offering cruelty-free skincare products.
