The 90s were Celine Dion’s best years…or weren’t they?
While the Canadian-born singer got her big break over 20 years ago, it seems like her fame is seeing a resurgence given the new generation of fans that are ‘stanning’ her now. But what exactly caused Dion bounce back into the limelight?
Her Cool Fashion Style
According to fashion and lifestyle magazine Elle, it’s all because of the 51-year-old’s enviable yet fun fashion style. Twentysomethings, who were just kids during the height of Dion’s singing career, have nothing but praises for the Canadian’s shameless love for everything fashion as evident in the comment section of her Instagram.
But there’s another person who needs to be credited for Dion’s impeccable style and following: the self-anointed ‘image architect’ Law Roach. The stylist was discovered by the singer through Roach’s work with the young star Zendaya. Coincidentally, her twin sons, Nelson and Eddy, were the ones to introduce the former Disney star to their mom.
One of Roach’s first course of actions is giving the singer an $885 oversized Vetements hoodie which features a large print of Titanic image still. In case you don’t know, Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ was used as part of the record-breaking movie’s soundtrack. Worn alone, the hoodie would’ve definitely turned into a ‘hypebeast’ look. With Roach and Dion’s smart styling, adding skinny jeans and Gucci heels, it was a totally fashionable and cheeky look.
Since then, the two have collaborated several times to create equally gorgeous OOTDs that have caught the attention of young fans. Seemingly overnight, Dion became the poster child for the modern, stylish woman, who does whatever she likes and enjoys her life to the fullest.
New Gig
Seeing the sudden spike in the singer’s popularity, brands expressed their eagerness to work with the 90s icon. Decades after beginning her music career, Dion just got her first-ever beauty contract. She’s currently serving as a L’oreal Paris spokesperson. A great choice, considering the singer’s French background being born and raised in Quebec, Canada.
The singer has an estimated net worth of around $430 million. Safe to say, she can do without the beauty deal but feeling a special connection to the brand’s tagline “I’m worth it”, she decided to go for it.
Living Her Best Life
Dion is definitely someone women should consider listening to. Saying how her life really started after turning 50, the singer believes that she has done quite a few good things to finally reach a state of peace with herself.
This positivity and confidence are clearly resonating with her fans who often leave her comments filled with youth slang like ‘Slay’ and ‘Queen’. In the end, though, it’s Dion who’s having the most fun revealing how she doesn’t take her current fashion icon status too seriously.
