A big announcement came from Paramount and Nickelodeon pictures as they announced the return of “Rugrats”. The announcement was made on July 16 that the relaunch of kids entertainment franchise is in the making. It was reported that the new series will feature characters from the beloved 90’s cartoon. The revival is expected to have 26 episodes as reported by Nickelodeon and Paramount.
Viacom cable channels are also in partnership of this revival series. The TV series, as well as the movie, will feature characters like Angelica, Tommy, Susie, Chuckie, Lil, and Phil. The executive producer of the series includes Paul Germain and Gábor Csupó, and Arlene Klasky. These producers are also the original creators of the series. According to the reports the production of the series is already underway in Burbank, California.

The news of the revival was broke out on the official Twitter page of Nickelodeon as it stated that Rugrats has joined the relaunch of a number of classic cartoons returning for a new generation.
Other information like the release date will be announced in coming months. While giving an interview, the COO of Viacom Media Networks, Sarah Levy said that Rugrats is one of the kids shows in the history and the whole team of Viacom Media is excited for the audience to meet the new characters of the series.
She further said that the story that was true. She added that kids are still fascinated by the cartoon characters as were kids back in the 90s. It will be a hell lot of fun when Tommy and Chuckie will meet today’s kids, she further added.
David Goodman is the writer of the upcoming Rugrats movie and the series is all set to be released in November 2020. The movie will be released by the Paramount Players – a subset of Paramount Pictures.
While commenting on the release of Rugrats, the president of Paramount Players, Brian Robbins said that it seems that it is an ideal time to reintroduce the fans with the new characters of the movie. He further said that those who spent their childhood watching Chuckie, Tommy and Rugrats will now share their experience with their child. Rugrats will join another classic revival that Nickelodeon is bringing for the kids and the families, including “Blue’s Clues.”
The story of the movie revolves around a bunch of toddlers whose life becomes adventurous with the passage of time. The first series of the TV show aired back in August 1991. And within no time, it had become one of the favorite TV series among 90’s kids.
There were many factors which added to the success of the movie and some of those were unique storytelling, iconic characters, and impeccable visual style. In the past 10 to 15 years, the kid’s TV series remained in production for almost 9 years. Rugrats won 6 Kids choice awards and three Emmy awards.

The TV series was losing its shape when Nickelodeon revived the show with the launch of “All Grown Up” in 2000. But nothing can match the value of the original series according to many experts. Fans are demanding the same animation style as they saw in the original one.
